Roof Insurance Claim Assistance in Oshkosh, WI
You file the claim and you own it. We cannot do that part for you, and anyone who says they will is telling you something they are not licensed to do. What we can do is make sure the damage is documented properly and that the adjuster sees all of it.

01Where claims usually go wrong
Almost never at the decision stage. They go wrong at the scope stage. The claim gets approved, but for less work than the roof needs, and you do not find out until the job is underway and a gap opens between the cheque and the invoice.
The usual omissions are the ones that are invisible from a ladder: ice and water shield that code requires, drip edge, the ridge vent, the flashing at a chimney, the decking under a soft spot, the detached garage that took the same hail as the house. Each one is small. Together they are often several thousand dollars.
02What we do
We inspect and photograph the damage before anyone else gets there, with dates on everything: test squares showing hail hits per square, creased shingles, granule loss, and the soft-metal damage on gutters and vents that corroborates the event.
We meet your adjuster on the roof. This is the part that matters most. An adjuster covering a whole county after a hail event is working fast, and having someone up there who can point at each item of damage as it is being recorded changes what ends up in the report.
We review the scope against what the roof needs, and where something is missing we supply the photographs and the documentation to support a supplement.
We give you a written estimate you can put next to the insurer's numbers, so you can see exactly where they agree and where they do not.
03What we will not do
We will not tell you your roof has storm damage when it has wear. Filing a claim on an old, worn-out roof and calling it hail is fraud, and it gets homeowners into trouble long after the contractor has moved on.
We will not offer to cover your deductible. It is illegal in Wisconsin for a contractor to pay, waive, or rebate an insurance deductible, and any company offering it is telling you plainly how it does business.
We will not ask you to sign a contract before you know what your insurer has approved.
04If your claim is denied
A denial is not always the end. Claims get denied because damage was missed, because it was recorded as wear, or because only one slope was inspected. If we believe the damage is real and documented, we will put together what you need to request a re-inspection.
If we look at it and think the denial was correct, we will tell you that too, and quote you the work as a straightforward job.

Questions
Straight answers.
Anything not covered here, call Erik on (920) 500-8214. That’s the roofing line.
- Will filing a claim raise my rates?
- Ask your agent. It depends on your carrier and your history. Carriers tend to treat weather claims differently from liability claims, because a hailstorm is not your fault. We are roofers, though. Get that answer from someone licensed to give it.
- Do you work with all insurance companies?
- Yes. We hold no affiliation with any insurer and we do not work for them. We work for you.
- What if my roof is old?
- Age matters. Many policies pay actual cash value on an older roof rather than replacement cost, which means depreciation comes off. Knowing which one you have before you file changes whether a claim is worth making at all. Check your declarations page for 'RCV' or 'ACV'.
- How long do I have to file?
- It varies by policy, and it is usually measured from the date of the storm rather than the date you noticed. Sooner is always better.
