Two trades, one company. Most contractors do roofing or painting. We do both, which changes what we can take responsibility for.
What we're for
A roof and the paint on a house are not separate problems. They fail into each other.
An overflowing gutter rots the fascia board. The fascia board is what the drip edge and the first course of shingles land on. The rot spreads back into the rafter tail. And somewhere in there the paint on the trim starts peeling, which is usually the first thing anyone notices.
Handled by two companies, that becomes a scheduling problem and an argument: the roofer says it is carpentry, the painter says it is a roof issue, and the homeowner is in the middle holding two quotes that do not add up to one finished job.
We do both trades, so it is one job. We replace the rotten board, prime it on all six sides, including the back and the cut ends, which is where the last one started rotting. Then we paint it to match your trim and fix the gutter pitch that caused it. Nobody to point at.
Who you'll be dealing with
HD is owned and run by the two of them together, out of Oshkosh. There is no call center, no appointment setter and no commissioned salesman in between. The people who sell the job are the people who show up for it, and one of them is on site for every project, from the first walk around to the last.

Erik handles the roofing side: replacements, repairs, storm damage and insurance claims. Every job starts with a full tear-off so the decking gets looked at, and nothing gets added to the scope without a phone call first. When there's a claim involved, Erik meets the adjuster on the roof so the damage gets recorded properly the first time. If you're calling about a roof, you'll most likely talk to Erik.
